BIOGRAPHY

Thomas in the Outdoors

Venturing to remote locations off the beaten track, I strive in exploring and developing my photographic practice through new locations and elements within the natural world. Through professional practice, I have been able to discover the unspoilt landscape that our planet strives upon, investigating colours that harmonise emotions. Though photography is my main practice I have worked on some video production as well as producing a few short film documentaries either in a crew or flying solo.

The journey is only beginning….

I grew up around moorland, waterfalls and reservoirs with beaches only an hour's drive from home. My appreciation and passion for the great outdoors came from many content hours exploring picturesque landscapes and the wildlife that can be found within the vast landscape. In 2020 I decided to make a design to move my photography to an ocean approach with a strong focus on the blue mind and the positives of our oceans.

My photography career started at a young age when my family handed me a small compact camera and told me to shoot anything that catches my eye, I took it everywhere with me and began photographing the people in the community and travels in Europe. There is two people who inspired my photography carer my grandad who sadly passed away when I was young and my dad who has accompanied me on many of my shoots, both enjoyed pursuing photography as a hobby encouraging me to join them occasionally. My photography has changed since I first started out but like many so has my subject with my niche being seascapes and wave photography which portray intimate and poetic feelings.

Since starting my photography career and winning awards along the way I have moved to Cornwall where I am using photography as a way to help with mental well-being. Colours are one of the many ways I help with visual meaning s as each colour has a different meaning and corresponds to different emotions. As a collective we are united but as individuals, we are as stray. Join me on my journey as I travel around the UK to photograph our unique landscapes.
